The Family Of PHILANDO CASTILE Just Hired TV JUDGE HATCHETT . . . To File A Civil Suit . . . Against
Philando Castile was killed in cold blood by a Minnesota police officer, and now his family is looking for JUSTICE.
MediaTakeOut.com confirmed that Philando’s family has hired television court show judge, Judge Glenda Hatchett and The Hatchett Law Firm to represent them in a civil lawsuit against Minnesota police.
Philando was killed by St. Anthony police officer Jeronimo Yanez, who shot Castile in the St. Paul suburb of Falcon Heights during a routine traffic stop.
Philando’s death – and another police shooting a day earlier in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, that also left a black man dead – prompted protests around the country, including in Dallas, where five officers were killed Thursday.
Judge Hatchett, 65, who worked as a civil rights lawyer in Atlanta, says Castile’s family is “very passionate and committed to ensuring” that his death “is not just another statistic.”
“I am deeply concerned about what seems to be an epidemic of African-American men being killed by police officers,” Hatchett said in the statement. “We have often seen demonstrations and debates and I raise the critical question, ‘When will there be systemic reform?'”
